‘Heroes Project’ set to honor Veterans

The Red Lodge Rotary Club ‘Heroes Project’ is planning to memorialize the town’s Veterans by installing crosses and dog tags along the west side of Highway 212 from Beartooth Billings Clinic through Red Lodge Country Club Estates where it connects to Highway 212. The installation will go up a week before this coming Veteran’s Day, Nov. 12, and will remain up a week afterwards. The same procedure will apply for Memorial Day. It will include active service personnel, non-active service personnel and deceased Veterans.

To implement the plan the Club are looking for volunteers to help in anyway they can, specially in making the crosses, the dog tags and putting conduits into the ground. To donate or help to the ‘Heroes Project’, the Red Lodge Rotary Club will have a booth at the Fun Run this coming Sept. 1 at Lions Park. Veterans’ form will be available at the booth or downloaded from our home page.

If you wish to send in information about a Veteran please contact Sandy Conlee at (406) 425-1457, or email at mtconlees@gmail.com. The price for inclusion is $40 which will cover material costs.
